Acupuncture now available

We are pleased to announce that we can now provide acupuncture for selected patients.

Acupuncture is the practice of placing needles into acupuncture points or painful, so called trigger points. The aim of this is to alleviate pain or alter the neurophysiology of a part of the body, for example to give pain relief in osteoarthritis.

Our vet Becky Newnham who works out of our Ancells Branch has recently done a training course and is happy to accept cases where it may be of benefit. If you are based at another branch, she may be able to travel to your branch.

This form of therapy has been practiced for many years in more Eastern countries but has become more popular as an adjunct to western medicine in more recent years, especially as it has been the subject of much discussion and research.

If you have a dog or cat who you think might benefit from acupuncture treatment please contact the surgery to discuss your case individually with Becky
